On surfaces that are frequently exposed to water, limescale build-up is almost inevitable. These deposits are caused by minerals in the tap water. The harder the water, the tougher the limescale. The formation of these deposits is enhanced by the presence of dirt on the surface. Limescale is often difficult to get rid of and requires a lot of scrubbing if you don't have suitable products to hand.
