Toekomst Schoonmaakbedrijven (a Dutch cleaning company) and BOMA: 10 Years of collaboration based on shared values

A special milestone for Toekomst Cleaning Companies and BOMA: this year marks 10 years of close collaboration. A perfect moment to reflect on the past decade together with Tom Dissel, Commercial Director, and Judith Smulders, Regional Project Manager at Toekomst Cleaning Companies. What started as a promising partnership has grown into a strong collaboration built on shared values, trust, and continuous improvement.

Over the years, this collaboration has contributed to innovative solutions and sustainable developments within Toekomst's organization. One key change was the transition away from their own warehouse, alongside the introduction of BOMA's DosDob solution. These developments laid the foundation for a successful partnership that continues to thrive today, built on shared values and a strong personal connection.

When we ask Tom which moment from the past 10 years has stayed with him the most, he still points to the very beginning of the collaboration:

"The first contact was with Guus Nieuwlaat and Gert Bresseleers. At that time, BOMA had just acquired a supplier and expressed the ambition to be among the top three in the Netherlands within five years. There was an immediate connection-especially considering the strong family-oriented culture that both companies share."

A journey of growth

Over the past 10 years, the collaboration has had a significant impact on the organisation of Toekomst. "Both BOMA and Toekomst embarked on a growth journey at the same time. That may well be the strength of this partnership, that both organisations have developed so strongly," says Tom. For Toekomst, BOMA's expertise and the personal contact have been key over the years. "If you look back at the early days, everything was small-scale and communication lines were very short. Today, we speak a bit less often because the collaboration runs smoothly, but it remains important to stay in touch."

Innovation

The two companies also aim to complement each other when it comes to innovation. Tom explains: "At Toekomst, we enjoy being at the forefront and trying out new cleaning methods. Together with BOMA, we put these into practice. It is not always successful, but we do try." Judith adds: "For me, as a Regional Project Manager, applying innovations with the client is always very rewarding. I truly feel the collaboration with BOMA in that as well."

When asked about key people within BOMA, Yvonne Wieggers and Guus Nieuwlaat are recognised as the faces of the organisation. Judith explains: "For me, as someone who is on-site at cleaning projects, it is very clear who I can contact. Whenever I have questions, I can always turn to Yvonne. She is truly an important face of BOMA for me." Yvonne has been involved from day one, which also makes her a familiar point of contact. "For us, Yvonne and Guus are the faces of the organisation. That is also the strength of the collaboration," Tom adds.

But what makes this collaboration unique?

According to Tom, this lies in the shared family-oriented character and the mutual focus on trust. "Although there have been challenges over the past 10 years, unconditional trust in each other remains the foundation of a successful collaboration."

Finally, Toekomst and BOMA share their message with other companies aiming for a sustainable and successful partnership. For Toekomst, maintaining long-term relationships is crucial, not only for the business, but also for the well-being of its employees.
